In the wake of the current situation with COVID 19 Coronavirus, the Executive of Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley Kart Club would like to confirm that we are constantly staying across all developments and will take any actions required to ensure that safety of all of our members and participants is maintained.

The COVID19 situation is one which is rapidly and constantly changing. The Australian Government has today issued a remit that addresses gatherings of people and also has updated their travel advice. The club Executive are monitoring this situation carefully and are placing the safety and wellbeing of our members as the highest priority.

Taking into account the safety and well-being of all of our members, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our scheduled race meeting this weekend.

While we could continue on with this race meet based on the current sanctions issued by the Government, and based on medical advice, we feel that given the current situation, and our primary focus of member wellbeing, it would be in the best interest of our members for us to look to re-schedule this meeting at a time in the future.

Any members who have pre-paid for this weekend’s racing will have the option of carrying their payment to the next race meeting or alternatively we will happily provide a refund. Please contact to organise.

We would like to remind all of our members that the most effective method of protection against the COVID19 virus is to practice good personal hygiene. Regular washing of hands with hand sanitiser and coughing or sneezing into your elbow is the most effective way of ensuring that the risk of transmission is reduced.

To ensure that we maintain the health and safety of all of our members and visitors, we would also re-iterate the governments updated travel requirements and self-isolation regulations.
• If you have recently (Monday 16 March 2020 or later) arrived from any overseas destination, you must self-isolate for a period of 14 days. If this applies to you, you will not be able to attend the track during this time.
• If you have been tested for COVID19 and are currently awaiting the results of your tests, or are currently in self isolation for any other reason, we would also request that you do not attend the track during this period.

We would naturally request that any member who is displaying potential signs and symptoms of the virus is tested prior to attending the track.

We would also like to ensure that we provide consistent and accurate information around the COVID19 virus, and steps that the club is taking to protect our members in this space. Accordingly, we would request that if any of our members have any queries on this point, please email Tom at president@toowoombakartclub.,

Thanks and Regards
Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club
